Recipes for the Guemes Island Historical Society Community Cookbook are due Friday, May 31, 2024
The Guemes Island Historical Society is excited to be creating a new Guemes community cookbook. We are now collecting recipes. Please email your recipes by May 31 to: dawn.ashbach@yahoo.com
The response has been amazing. I have already received over 95 recipes. We want to include all who want to be included, so please send in your recipe(s) by the due date.
Two Guemes Island Cookbooks, have been published, one in 1962 and one in 1972. Going through the books and seeing people’s names attached to their recipes is like walking down memory lane. Be sure your family name is included in the new cookbook. We are asking you to look at your favorite family recipe(s) and share. Please include a brief description of the recipe’s historical significance to you or your family. We will compile the recipes in a similar format. Depending on how many recipes in each category, we may not be able to include them all, but will do our best.
Categories are: Appetizers, Salads, Entrees, Seafood, Vegetables/Side Dishes, Soups, Breakfasts/Breads, Desserts.
