Notice is hereby given that the Skagit County Hearing Examiner will hold a virtual public hearing on October 27, 2021 in the Board of County Commissioners Hearing Room, 1800 Continental Place, Mount Vernon, Washington, at 9:00 A.M. or soon thereafter, for the purpose of determining the following:
• PL21-0180 Special Use & Temporary Events Permit submitted by Barbara Ohms, President of the Guemes Island Community Center Association (GICCA), for the proposed designation of GICCA property (P60874 & P60877) as a community park per Skagit County Code (SCC) 14.16.320(4)(x) and for temporary events per SCC 14.16.320(3)(m). The proposal also includes the operation of the Guemes Island Community Stage. The proposed project is located at 6561 Guemes Island Road, Anacortes within a portion of Section 01, Township 35 N, Range 1 E, W.M. on parcels P60874 & P60877. • PL19-0570 Special Use Permit application submitted by Carolyn Lemelson for the proposed operation of a dog breeding business (Limited Kennel) business to operate out of an existing residence and a 28’x 44’ shop building on site. Skagit County Code (SCC) 14.16.420(4)(e) lists Limited Kennels as a permitted use with an approved Hearing Examiner Special Use Permit. The project is located within the Secondary Forest-Natural Resource zoning/comprehensive plan designated area as indicated in the Skagit County Comprehensive Plan and associated maps adopted July 5, 2016, and as thereafter amended. The application was determined complete for review purposes on October 22, 2020. The applicant is Carolyn Lemelson 25954 Lake Cavanaugh Road, Mount Vernon, Washington 98273. The project is located at 25954 Lake Cavanaugh Road, Skagit County within a portion of Section 17, Township 33 North, Range 05 East Willamette Meridian., situated within unincorporated Skagit County, Washington (Parcel #: P101336 & P18103).
