Historical Society: The Heart and Soul of Your Community

Heritage: The Heart and Soul of Your Community

Please join the Guemes Island Historical Society on Monday, February 10th at 7pm as we welcome Clay Eals as our guest speaker.  His topic will be Heritage: The Heart and Soul of Your Community. Clay is an accomplished journalist, author and historian with an emphasis on community advocacy.  He is  past president of the board of directors  for the West Seattle Historical Society as well as its first administrative director. During his tenure, he spearheaded the effort to achieve landmark status for the Admiral Theater, worked on the acquisition of the West Seattle Log House Museum and worked to save and preserve the Alki Homestead of West Seattle. Clay describes his role as a “Pied Piper” bringing a variety of people and talents together to accomplish their desired goals as a community.

The GIHS regularly scheduled business meeting precedes the presentation and begins at 5:45 pm.  It will be held in the Guemes Island Community Church.  All are welcome to attend.
