April 13, 2020

Commissioner Margeson called the Regular Fire Commissioners meeting to order at 7:03 pm. 

Because of COVID-19, the April 13, 2020 was conducted virtually in response to the "Stay Home, Stay Healthy" order from Governor Inslee.

Present:  Commissioners Margeson, Murphy, Crawford, Chief Francis, Treasurer Davelaar, Secretary Kankaala, Matthew Enos

The minutes of March 16, 2020 were unanimously approved.

Treasurer’s Report: Beginning March Operating Fund cash balance was $67,321.58. Beginning March General Investment Fund balance was $11,991.81.  Beginning March Capital Fund cash balance was $72,844.83. Beginning March Capital Investment Fund balance was $33,878.53. Grand total is $186,036.75.

March expenses were $14,824.88. Payroll for March was $3,906.00, and VFF stipends were $315.00 for a grand total of $19,045.88 in March expenditures. 

March revenue included $10,684.01 in taxes collected, $1,260.00 in DH Trauma Grant, and $15.17 in interest. Total March revenue was $11,959.18.

District 17 Commissioners reviewed and approved the Treasurer’s Report, invoices, and firefighter stipends at their April 13, 2020 public meeting. Commissioner Murphy made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report, and Commissioner Crawford seconded; motion was approved unanimously.

Chief’s Report: See attached report for a list of drills and responses. 

District 17 Drills have been canceled until the COVID-19 pandemic is over.

The Public CPR/AED class on April 18th has been cancelled.

GIFD has re-hired Larry Pyke

Old Business: The property search for a new District 17 Fire Station has been put on hold until the COVID-19 pandemic is over.

New Business:  A concerned resident  is concerned about the flooding in the valley. The concerned resident has asked the Fire Commissioners to review a letter he plans to send to the County in regard to the situation. The District 17 Fire Commissioners have been given copies of the letter.

The next resolution will be 420.

The next regular meeting will be May 11, 2020 at 7:00 PM; this meeting will be conducted virtually to comply with the "Stay Home, Stay Healthy" order from Governor Inslee. 

The meeting adjourned at 7:24PM.
