Draft Minutes for the June 4th 2018 Meeting of the

Guemes Island Planning Advisory Committee


Meeting was called to order by Chairman Hal Rooks at 6:35pm.  Present were board members Michael Brown, Edith Walden, Allen Bush, Steve Orsini, Hal Rooks, and board emeritus Gary Curtis.  Nancy Fox and Patty Rose were unable to make the meeting.  Also present were Barb Ohms, Tom Glade, Phyllis Bravinder, and Susan Rombeek.

Draft agenda was moved, seconded and approved.

Draft minutes from last month were moved, seconded and approved.

Treasurer Allen Bush reported the GIPAC checking account was $2,682.31 and the Roz Glasser Bequest fund was $10,515.21.

Updates – Hal Rooks mentioned that two films had been shown in Anacortes about the Whidbey Island Airbase and the jet noise problems that have been reported over the years.  Barb Ohms is going to try and get approval to screen them at the Community Center in the near future.  GIPAC supported that effort.

The rest of the meeting was devoted a discussion of the history of lot aggregation and disaggregation on both Guemes and Fidalgo Islands, led by Tom Glade, President of Evergreen Islands Foundation.  Tom's presentation highlighted the complexity of the issues involved,  We thanked Tom for taking the time to help GIPAC better understand the topic. 

The meeting adjourned at 8:25 PM.
