Frontier Expands Broadband Services To Guemes Island

We've all noticed the many Frontier trucks working around the island in the last few months. We've noticed the installation of fiber optic cable and equipment upgrades. Frontier Communications explains what it means to Guemes Islanders:

Frontier Communications is making broadband technology available to residences and businesses in the community of Guemes Island, WA starting June 30th.

To deliver this service, microwave radio transport will provide support for two remote sites on the island. Each is equipped with Adtran Total Access 5000 series VDSL (very-high-bit-rate digital subscriber line) switches. This technology allows Frontier’s network to deliver Internet speeds of up to 24 Mbps for residential customers and up to 40 Mbps for businesses, depending on their proximity to the switches.

Customers can bundle broadband Internet service with telephone service and realize substantial savings. Residential customers ordering Frontier Internet for the first time can get up to 6 Mbps starting at just $19.99 per month with qualifying phone service. The no-contract offer includes a three-year price guarantee for Internet service and free wi fi router. Customers can double their speed for $10 more per month (up to 12 Mbps for $29.99/mo, up to 24 Mbps for $39.99/mo). If no phone service is desired, customers can choose standalone broadband service with speeds up to 6 Mbps for just $29.99/mo, with qualifying auto-pay enrollment. Customers can double their speed for $10 more per month for standalone service as well, up to 24 Mbps. Business packages start at just $49.99/month for business high-speed internet and phone service. These offers are set to change July 6th.

Local residents are encouraged to contact Frontier at 360-757-3256 and businesses should call Frontier Commercial Account Manager Gregg Heyne at 360-202-7295 to determine eligibility for Frontier broadband and to verify speeds available.

Frontier has continued to expand broadband service across Washington, investing more than $200 million into its network over the past three years.

“Frontier’s network investments are providing residents and businesses of Guemes Island a multitude of new opportunities and efficiencies through access to the Internet,” stated Frontier General Manager Denise Sperle. “We recognize individuals and families depend on broadband for many purposes, including education, and we are focused on providing local customers with leading-edge communications services.”

All Frontier products and services offer 24/7/365 support from a 100% U.S.-based workforce.

The Frontier mobile retail store Sprinter van will be on Guemes Island June 5 – 12th, 1pm-5pm to sign people up for service. The van will be parked at Anderson’s General Store and Channelside Café.
