March 12, 2015

The Regular Fire Commissioners meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Commissioner Chip Bogosian, Chairman.

Present: Commissioners Bogosian, Bear and Murphy, Chief G. Francis, Medical Officer N. White, Lieutenant Snell, PIO Lorraine Francis, Secretary Meekins and Secretary Murray.

Guests: Edith Walden.

The minutes of February 9, 2015 were unanimously approved.

Treasurer’s Report:

Beginning March Operating Fund balance $36,248.31. Beginning March Investment Fund balance $41,298.11. Beginning March Capital Investment Fund balance of $50,043.01 includes $15,000 transferred from the Cash fund in February.

February Expenses of $2,266.57 and Payroll of $2,166.00. A $114 correction to the February payroll was noted.

Resolution 348. The commissioners voted unanimously to make Secretary Murray the new investment officer.

Open:

There were no topics of discussion from guests.

Chief’s Report:

See attached report. The truck from DNR has arrived. We have one year to convert it to a brush rig. Our current truck with older equipment is out of compliance with industry standards and will be sold when the conversion is complete. Estimated cost of conversion is $15K will come from the Capital Fund. DNR will hold title to the truck but allow its use by GIFD indefinitely.

There was no old business.

New Business:

The commissioners retired into Executive Session for 20 minutes to discuss qualifications of applicants for the position of Assistant Chief. Upon reconvening, the Commissioners voted with 2 in favor and 1 abstaining to hire Olivia Snell. Resolution 349 will name Olivia Snell as Assistant Chief with a monthly salary of $200.

Assistant Chief Snell resigned as Mechanical Engineer. That position will be posted with applications due by April 12.

A 2014 Pension Participation Certification form was corrected and given to Commissioner Bogosian for signature.

The commissioners reviewed the invoices from February 7 through March 6, 2015 and approved invoices in the amount of $2,266.57 and payroll of $2,166. The approved total of $4,432.57 includes a $114 payroll correction from February.

The next regular meeting will be on Monday, April 13, 2015, at 7 PM in the Fire Hall.

The meeting adjourned at 7:50 pm.
