Ferry Haul Out and Maintenance $28,254 Under Budget
Our preventative maintenance plan to put the ferry on a 12 month Haulout and Maintenance cycle has put us in a good position to keep costs down. Total budget for the Haulout this year was $175,000. Total to be paid to Puglia Engineering AKA Fairhaven Shipyard is $146,746.83
Bob Martin, the ferry mechanic, has done an outstanding job of maintaining the vessel throughout the years and putting together this preventative maintenance plan. The whole thing has been a great team effort.

Perhaps some of that savings could be directed toward a more accessible transportation alternative during the next haul-out. I would be more inclined to celebrate a savings when ALL members of my community have access to safe and accessible transportation rather than being excluded or injured as was the case during this most recent haul-out.
