Public Hearing On Critical Areas Variance

Notice is hereby given that the Skagit County Hearing Examiner will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 in the Board of County Commissioners Hearing Room, 1800 Continental Place, Mount Vernon, Washington, at 9:00 a.m. or soon thereafter, for the purpose of determining the following:

  •    Modification of Critical areas Variance, PL17-0017: Ms. Boeskov previously proposed to remodel the former single family residence, approximately 18 feet from the shoreline, at 4429 Agate road on Guemes Island. The critical areas variance for the proposal was approved by Skagit County under file PL14-0154. After approval, building inspection determined that the structure of the residence was not suitable for remodeling and the residence was subsequently demolished.

The applicant is requesting a modification to the critical areas variance to reconstruct the residence near its previous location. The proposed project is located within the Rural Intermediate zoning/comprehensive plan designated area. The proposed project is located at 4429 Agate Road, Guemes Island, WA within a portion of the northeast ¼ of Section 26, Township 36 North, Range 1 East, W.M. (P46551)
